Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford Heat are pleased to announce that forward Ben Street and defenseman Chad Billins have been selected to the 20-man roster for the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic on February 11th-12th, 2014 in St. Johns, NL.

Street, a 26 year-old from Coquitlam, BC, currently leads the Heat in scoring with 32 points (16-16-32), sits sixth in AHL points and is tied for third in AHL goal scoring. Street is in his fourth AHL season and second with the Heat. This will be Street’s first AHL All-Star game.

Billins, a 24 year-old from Marysville, MI, currently leads the Heat defense with 26 points (6-20-26), sits fourth in points among AHL defenseman and second in assists. Billins is in his second AHL season and first with the Heat. This will be Billins second consecutive AHL All-Star game.

Taking place just prior to the start of the men’s Olympic hockey tournament, the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic in St. John’s, N.L. will see a team of American Hockey League All-Stars face off against Farjestad BK, one of the top professional teams in the Swedish Hockey League, in a two-day event including a Skills Competition on Tuesday, February 11th and the All-Star Game on Wednesday, February 12th.

The Heat continue their six-game road trip on Friday against the Texas Stars. After the road trip, the Heat will return home and begin an eight-game home stand starting with the Utica Comets on January 24th and 25th at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
