In this issue of 'By The Numbers', we take a look at the season Brett Carson had with the Abbotsford Heat.

A off-season back injury that happened in training cost Brett Carson the opportunity to impress in training camp. The 26-year-old managed just a pair of games in Calgary, and after a pair of conditioning stints in Abbotsford, Carson was sent through waivers on his way to the Heat.

Carson was a victim of the numbers game that allowed just six of nine veterans (and exempt veterans) dress in any single game, but was effective when he played. Carson has all the tools to be a top defender in the AHL, and this coming season may see the opportunity to prove that to be true.
