o “The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is very excited to partner with the Abbotsford Heat for its first annual Pink in the Rink fundraiser,” said Susan Johnston, Run Director of the Run for the Cure – Abbotsford Fraser-Valley. “This is an excellent opportunity to not only raise funds for breast cancer research but also to increase the awareness of breast health in the community.”
• Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women. One in 9 women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer-led national event in Canada in support of breast cancer. All of the proceeds raised at the Run for the Cure in BC will remain in the province. This year the Run for the Cure will take place on September 30th, 2012.
