Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford Heat presented their annual team awards following today’s game and are proud to announce this year’s winners.
Top Rookie: Dustin Sylvester
• 35 points (15-20-35) in 64 games
• New Heat rookie record for points in a season – T.J. Brodie had 34 in 2010-11
• Finished 33rd in AHL rookie scoring
• Tied for 5th on Heat with plus-8 rating

Fan’s Choice Award: Krys Kolanos
• New single season franchise records for goals (30) and points (61) despite appearing in just 47 games
• 13 multi-point games
• 7th in AHL with 240 shots on goal
Community Player of the Year: Carter Bancks
• Recognized for outstanding contribution to the community of Abbotsford
• Made several community appearances including playing floor hockey with Special Olympians, reading to students through the local school district and signing thousands of autographs
Top Defenseman & Team MVP: Clay Wilson
• Finished 6th in AHL defence scoring with 43 points (16-27-43)
• Recorded plus-nine rating good enough for fourth on the Heat
• Dawned the Captain’s ‘C’ in absence of Quintin Laing
• Consistent leader in ice time/minutes played for the Heat
